Germany 2006 will be the fourth FIFA World Cup™ finals for Saudi Arabia’s legendary goalkeeper Mohammed Al Deayea.

The 33-year-old had an unforgettable FIFA World Cup™ debut at USA 94 where he helped Saudi Arabia reach the second round. He subsequently played a vital part in Saudi Arabia’s capture of the 1996 AFC Asian Cup and has also won the Gulf Cup with his country in 1994 and 2002.

Al Deayea lost his place in the team following Saudi Arabia’s disastrous 2002 Korea/Japan campaign, where he conceded 12 goals in three group defeats, including an 8-0 reverse at the hands of Germany.

However, his experience as one of the world’s most capped footballers meant coach Marcos Paqueta recalled him to the squad after replacing Gabriel Calderon last December, and Al Deayea subsequently made his 179th appearance against Portugal on 1 March.
